The Eyebright Method

Eye diseases and conditions

Through my own and other people’s translations of Chinese texts, and my own experience with patients in the West, I have been able to put together the Eyebright method.  I have chosen this name for two reasons - it is the name of a local herb which has long been used for eye conditions; and it is the name of an acupuncture point which helps eyesight.

A summary of the principles of the Eyebright method are given in our download pamphlet, and in another download is a brief summary of some conditions that can be helped, and the most likely therapy to help.

I would like at this stage to emphasise that the first thing to do when you have an eye problem is to consult an ophthalmologist to obtain a diagnosis.  In many acute eye conditions, timely treatment can prevent blindness, and it would be foolhardy to take any other course.  The alternative methods come into their own once the crisis is past.
